Текст научной статьи The use of project methodology in English lessons
Modern pedagogical technologies such as training in cooperation, project methodology, the use of new information technologies, Internet resources help to implement a person-oriented approach to teaching, provide individualization and differentiation of education, taking into account the abilities of children, their level of training, inclinations, etc.
Modernity makes ever higher demands for teaching practical knowledge of a foreign language in everyday communication and in the professional sphere. Ways are being developed to increase the effectiveness of general education, and large investments are made in the development and introduction of new information technologies. The use of information technology reveals the enormous capabilities of the computer as a means of learning. Computer training programs have many advantages over traditional teaching methods.
ICT teaching in English classes is an effective pedagogical tool for studying foreign culture and formation of communicative skills. Teachers note that the use of ICT contributes to the acceleration of the learning process, the growing interest of students in the subject, improve the quality of mastering the material, allow individualize the learning process and make it possible to avoid subjectivity assessment. The lessons of a foreign language with the use of ICT differ in diversity, increased interest of students in a foreign language, and effectiveness.
The use of ICT by teachers of foreign languages possessing a high level of communicative competence makes it possible to organize the learning process in the format of group teaching with the use of new pedagogical technologies: the method of educational projects, problem training, training in cooperation, etc. These methods of teaching are characterized by:
-
• the learning process takes place within certain groups of students united by a single goal;
-
• the interdisciplinary nature of the training implemented by the developed curricula;
-
• independent study of an individual task in the distribution of buildings when performing a general task;
-
• intensive communication process between project participants, project leaders, project coordinators, experts, etc .;
-
• use of Internet technologies and traditional media to search for necessary information. The process of learning in groups becomes more effective due to the sense of responsibility of each participant to the team or group students united by a common task and distributed "roles", which was impossible with the traditional educational system.
The concept of modernization of education pays great attention to the mastery of certain competences by teachers. These include the formation of information and communication competence for the effective organization of communication among participants of various open lessons, teleconferences, training projects, seminars within the Internet, not only between students and teachers of various schools within the country, but also with colleagues from other countries.
Obviously, the process of studying various subjects, and in particular English, cannot be is effective without the use of ICT tools, which allow for a worldwide dialogue through various methodologies.
In addition, the use of the educational project allows students to work on learning materials in different ways. Getting started decides how to study materials, how to use the interactive capabilities of the application, and how to work together with fellow practitioners. Thus, students become active participants in the educational process.
Students can influence their own learning process by tailoring it to their individual abilities and preferences. They can learn exactly the material that interests them, repeat the material as many times as they need, and this helps to eliminate many obstacles to their individual perception of educational material.
The use of new information technologies expands the scope of the educational process, increases its practical focus. Increases the motivation of students in the educational process and creates conditions for their successful self-realization in the future. "... The Internet allows not only to saturate students with a large number of ready, strictly selected, appropriately organized knowledge, but also to develop the intellectual, creative abilities of students, their ability to independently acquire new knowledge, work with various sources of information."
However, ICT is not a panacea for increasing the student's motivation and independence in the cognitive process. The teacher should organize both the technical aspect of the lesson (software) and the pedagogical (to organize student interaction, activities, help them).
Modernity makes ever higher demands for teaching practical knowledge of a foreign language in everyday communication and in the professional sphere. The volumes of information grow and often routine ways of its transfer, storage and processing are ineffective. The use of information technology reveals the enormous capabilities of the computer as a means of learning. Computer training programs have many advantages over traditional teaching methods. They allow you to train different types of speech activity and combine them in different combinations, help to understand language phenomena, form linguistic abilities, create communicative situations, automate linguistic and speech actions, and also provide an opportunity to take into account the leading representative system, implement an individual approach and intensify the student's independent work .
In multimedia training programs in English various methods are used, allowing to conduct familiarization, training and control.
In addition to the use of multimedia training programs, the computer is an indispensable tool for preparing and conducting testing, monitoring the learning process, creating the content of the tools for developing computer lessons, preparing didactic materials, using Internet resources and services for classroom and independent work, .
In conclusion, it should be emphasized that the use of multimedia programs in the educational process does not exclude traditional methods of teaching, but harmonizes with them at all stages of training: familiarization, training, application, control. But the use of a computer allows not only to increase the efficiency of training many times, but also to encourage students to further independent study of the English language, which was proved in the course of the experiment. Thus, according to the results of our study, the use of new information technologies, in particular computers in the school environment is effective:
-
• It created comfortable conditions for the conduct of the learning process.
-
• Contributed to improving the information culture of students.
-
• Expanded their linguistic and sociocultural competence.
-
• Changed the positive motivation for learning English.
