The traditional culture of the Kola North in V.N. Bubentsov’s painting

This study delves into the forms of actualization of traditional Pomor culture, including its representation in art. It has been identified that the festival format currently represents one of the most widespread and spectacular means of transmitting knowledge about traditional culture. This article substantiates the expediency of using the concept of “festival” to denote the current stage of development of traditional culture; shows elements of the festival-traditional culture of the Kola North interpreted in V.N. Bubentsov’s arts; the art’s role playing in preserving traditional cultural heritage. The analysis of some paintings reveals the presence of the author’s visual model of folk culture of the Kola North in the context of the festival, as well as the philosophical problems of the current stage of development of Pomeranian folk culture on the Tersky coast.
