One of the most urgent problems of modern higher education is the definition of criteria and evaluation system of knowledge of applicants for admission to higher education. Of particular difficulty is the selection system in narrowly focused, specialized high schools, which often need to develop specific, specialized systems and valuation principles. One of these specific areas of education, require special approaches is area of study architectural and construction trades. In the industry, among other uses such evaluation criteria as the ability to create a song. The paper presents an analysis of the approaches of different architectural schools in Russia and abroad for the entrance exam for the composition. Evaluation criteria considered when checking the work. The conclusions for the further training the most promising methods to achieve the best result.
