Requirements and principles of creating the content of an electronic textbook

The problem projecting the electronic textbook context is discussed. Topicality of using electronic textbooks in teaching is proved on the basis of a brief analysis of organization and management of higher school curriculum. Presented and proved are: brief content of electronic textbooks, requirements to an electronic textbook, principles of making an electronic textbook, characteristics necessary when working with an electronic textbook, criteria of the outcomes of forming student independence etc. author’s opinion on the cultural element of electronic textbook and the organization of student independent work to form their independence is presented.
