Institutes of continuing education at universities aim to develop the competencies necessary for successful professional activities in employees. However, these internal advanced training programs often struggle to keep pace with the rapid development of modern technologies and evolving employee requirements. To bridge this gap, it is important to analyze global trends in continuing education and study the best practices of corporate universities. This article seeks to identify the trends in continuing education to expand the pool of advanced training programs at institutions of continuing education. The author explores global trends in continuing education, best practices of corporate universities in the Russian Federation and abroad, and offers recommendations for further development of the university's system of continuing education. The main trends identified include an increased interest in blended learning formats, a demand for a closer connection between training and employment, the active integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, mobile microlearning, a growing request for training from practitioners, and an increased interest in coaching and mentoring. The findings of this study can inform the development of institutes of continuing education at universities and guide the creation of internal advanced training courses for employees.
