Criminal-legal protection of advocates from criminal encroachments in the countries of the post-Soviet space

Research of the experience of criminal legal protection of the advocates activities in the countries of the post-Soviet space and the possibilities of its application in order to improve domestic legislation. The author used formal legal, comparative legal and analytical methods. The article analyzes the issue of the protection of advocate's activities in the countries of the post-Soviet space. The main types of illegal encroachments against advocates, their causes are revealed. It is concluded that all of them are related to the implementation of professional tasks by advocates, are forms of interference to advocates activities. The author reveals the peculiarities of bringing to criminal responsibility for crimes committed against advocates in the countries of the post-Soviet space, based on the analysis of the criminal codes of these states. Article possesses the high scientific value as the progressive legislative approach of the countries of the post-Soviet space, involving increased criminal liability for encroachments on the life, health and property of advocates, which can be used to improve the legislation of the Russian Federation, is revealed.
