The paper deals with the formation of communication skills in younger students on the lessons and classes of fine art. The authors present three components of communicative competence (communicative, interactive and perceptual) formed in the classroom of visual activity in primary school. Recommendations for conducting classes are offered, since these lessons and classes provide the child with all the necessary knowledge and skills in the field of communication. The author concludes that if you use innovative technologies, a variety of activities and forms of work on the lessons, the study of fine art will be an effective means of forming the communicative abilities of younger students. In conclusion, it is indicated that the development of communication skills of younger students is one of the main tasks of a teacher of fine arts in a modern school.
