The authors raise the question of the need to start creating legislative, economic and cultural-organizational conditions for turning Zakhar Fedorovich Shcherbak manor located near Novokubansk into a museum and tourist facility. This outstanding example of the Southern Russian manor is remarkable also for the fact that Alexander Solzhenitsyn, who was Scherbak’s grandson, came here with his mother Taisia Zakharovna Shcherbak as a child and teenager. The problem of preservation of the complex of architectural structures and landscape gardening objects on the estate is considered by the authors in the context of the development of cultural discourse aimed at organizing subject environment and the revealing of the spiritual and semantic potential of this memorial object in three aspects. The first is associated with the development of the estate economy in the South of Russia, the second is linked with a history of pre- and post-revolutionary events in the country and the third aspect is related to the biography and creative work of Solzhenitsyn.
