The article studies set phrases in the German language as a national linguistic phenomenon associated with the peculiarities of the mentality, history and culture of Germany. Particular attention is paid to expressions which refer to anatomical structures and parts of the human body. The article focuses on the specificity of set phrases in German, provides their literal translation and Russian analogues. Maximum immersion in the language environment, study of fiction and special German literature is necessary to better understand semantic features and the origin of these expressions.
