В статье рассматриваются вопросы становления и развития среднего класса в современном Китае в условиях тотального расслоения и углубления социального неравенства (по результатам ежегодного конгресса Китайской социологической ассоциации, состоявшегося в июле 2013 г.). Автор использует данные исследований, проведенных российскими и китайскими социологами в 2011-2013 годах.

In search of the middle class: the specifics of social stratification in modem China
The paper focuses on the issue of the formation of the middle class in modem China. The authors consider the issue of the formation and development of different social group sinterms of total social differentiation and deepening inequality in the contemporary Chinese society. The article summarizes the authors' impressions of the annual Congress of Chinese Sociological Association (July 2013), devoted to the social stratification and problems of social inequality in modem society.
