Verbal characteristics of subjective attitude of students of pedagogical areas of training to manifestations of cyberbullying: ideas about essence and ways of prevention

The article analyzes the results of a study of modern students' ideas about essence of cyberbul-lying and the possibilities of implementing preventive measures to overcome it. The data of Russian and foreign studies on this problem are presented, the causes and types of manifestations of aggressive Internet harassment are indicated. The author's research made it possible to obtain samples of verbal characteristics of subjective attitude of students of pedagogical areas of training to manifestations of cyberbullying, to evaluate their ideas about essence of this negative social phenomenon and ways to prevent it. Among the objective and subjective reasons for emergence of cyberbullying, respondents attributed the impunity of activities in Internet space and the fact of its anonymity. When describing the “victim”, the survey participants used such verbal characteristics as “emotional instability” and “low self-esteem”. The dominant signs of an “aggressor”, according to respondents, are the conviction of impunity and hostility. Among the ways to prevent cyberbullying, the survey participants named familiarization of young people with the essential features of Internet bullying, with stereotypical features of a cyber aggressor and cyber victim to correct the behavior of participants in communication process in digital space.
