The article is devoted to computer music a part of the virtual reality, which is one of the trends of modern life. The author gives a detailed analysis of the phenomenon of virtuality in computer music as a direction to the virtual border the limit of empirical reality and the exit to the artificial world, multiplied by computer technology. The authors of computer music create a virtual reality with different expectations, aspirations and enthusiasms than the composers/performers/listeners of music created within the ontological and ontic borderies. The paper characterises contemporary conceptions of computer music as radically new in relation to past musical tradition and independent of natural human life. The artificiality of computer music means the transition from analogue sound to digital sound, from communication to closure and to interaction with electronic computer technology. The peculiarity of the virtual frontier the artificiality, incompleteness, simulation, decentralisation of the human being, his loneliness has now manifested itself precisely with the totality of technological computer thinking. Overcoming the ontological and ontic boundaries, computer (engineering) music takes us into an artificial world, beyond the anthropological one, the characteristics of which are yet to be clarified.
