The article focuses on the problem of the lack of training courses for future choreography teachers in China related to the study of the visual-spatial component of ballet performances and the history of European visual arts. Meanwhile, Chinese culture often lacks the knowledge and understanding of the nature of the visual code of works of ballet art that is quite obvious for a representative of the European cultural tradition. The first part of the article illustrates aspects of the inclusion of spatial arts in the system of choreographic education, namely, at the level of form (scenography) and content (artistic image of the dance). In the second part of the article, using the example of 4 Chinese universities, the curricula for training bachelors of choreographic faculties are analyzed, which for systematization are divided into 8 blocks of disciplines, from which consideration is drawn a conclusion about significant attention to the technical training of future specialists. In addition, despite the fact that the theoretical block is also presented in the amount of 5 to 9 disciplines - there are no courses that touch on spatial arts among them. To improve the situation, the introduction of mini-courses on individual ballets, active work with demonstration materials in the history of choreography courses, and the strategic development of a training module for the discipline of Classical Ballet and Visual and Plastic Arts are proposed in the training programme for choreography teachers.
