Impact of the university students’ emotional intelligence on academic achievements

One of the many factors affecting the academic performance of students, which draws special attention, is currently the development of students' emotional intelligence as their ability to introspect and self-regulate their emotional state, which contributes to their further intellectual development. The author provides the analysis of a number of works by foreign and Russian authors devoted to the study of emotional intelligence and its impact on success in the learning process. The author created a survey for students. The results of the study of the development of emotional intelligence level of future specialists in the field of jurisprudence in its main components (self-analysis of emotions, assessment of emotions, use of emotions and management of emotions) and identification of a positive interrelation with the level of their academic performance are presented.
