The Influence of Scientific and Educational Centers on the Modern Development of the Region: Through the Example of the World-Class Eurasian REC of the Republic of Bashkortostan

This paper examines the influence of world-class research and education centers (RECs) on the social institutions developing in various regions of Russia. Using the case of the Eurasian Research and Educational Center in the Republic of Bashkortostan, the author analyzes the formation of scientific capital, the changes in the employment structure, the transformation of youth professional mobility, and the integration of the scientific, educational, and industrial sectors. The methodological basis of the study is institutional analysis, the Triple Helix theory, and the analysis of relevant legal documents, statistical data, and the development plan of the Eurasian Research and Educational Center. The novelty of the paper lies in its interpretation of research and educational centers as institutions of regional social modernization and its clarification of the concept of regional scientific and communication capital. The study demonstrates that the activity of the Eurasian Research and Educational Center contributes to the construction of research infrastructure, the development of youth research activities, the international cooperation strengthening, and the formation of new types of research specialists.
