The article presents the results of a study on the relationship between the indicators of formed conceptual thinking and the level of independent thinking of students in grades 3 to 6. The relevance of the research is due to the frequent transitions in the 2020/2021 academic year to distance learning, since these abilities affect the universal learning activities that contribute to the independent mastering of information. The sample consisted of 101 respondents. The study was conducted in two stages. At the first stage, the students were tested using the Amthauer test and the Cattell-Yasyukova test. At the second stage, applying statistical methods of data processing, the relationship between conceptual thinking and independent thinking was assessed. A statistically significant correlation was found between them. And based on this, recommendations have been made for the development and correction of the learning process.
