The article deals with the influence of the development of the phonological competence on the process of the interrelated formation of skills and abilities of foreign language listening and speaking by students of non-linguistic universities. The education is based on the phonetic part of speech. There is substantiated the use of the integrated tasks, there are shown their examples. The author gives the data of the dynamics of the phonological competence development and its impact on the listening and speaking skills.
