By patriotism we mean love for one's homeland, for one's home, village, city or region, for the whole country. Patriotism is one of the most profound human feelings expressing love for the Motherland, a willingness to serve its interests, fulfill constitutional duties to protect the Motherland.
He is inextricably linked with the education of feelings of honor, duty, responsibility of man in society. This is a natural attachment to your people, native places, language, national traditions. The fundamental foundations of this concept exist in any country in the world. Moreover, as an idea - it is a necessary condition for the existence of any state.
Heroic in the fate of Russia should be actively propagated regardless of the state system under which it manifested itself - under the primitive communal, feudal, capitalist or socialist
Today it is vitally important to revive in Russian society a sense of true patriotism as a spiritual, moral and social value, to form in the young man a civic active and socially significant qualities that he can manifest in a creative process.
Patriotism functions and manifests through the national. It is necessary to bear in mind the original meaning of the notion of «nationalism» as a commitment and love for its people and distinguish it from chauvinism, which means arrogant exaltation of its people at the expense of others and a contemptuous attitude to everything alien. Let us note that in Soviet dictionaries «nationalism» is defined as «the superiority of one nation over another» and is regarded as the ideology of the bourgeoisie. In this sense, nationalism is identified with chauvinism.
Of course, the patriotic and national have a sphere of rapprochement not only in terms of, but also in the phenomena of a small homeland, habitat, childhood, family, and everyday life.
The national idea is realized with varying degrees of depth, but without it a person ceases to be a full-fledged person. Therefore, one of the important tasks of the school is to pass on to future generations the human experience in its national form, to educate people of moral, educated, spiritually rich, possessing a sense of civic duty and love for the Motherland. Such a person can only be a person with a sense of national dignity, based on national ideals.
The sense of human dignity is inconceivable without national consciousness, based on a sense of spiritual connection with the native people. National consciousness and feelings are a particularly delicate area of relations, in need of sensitivity, self-control, respectful penetration into the way of life, beliefs of another people. Special care is necessary in relation to the small number of people, with a heightened sense of their national rights and interests. National feeling leads people to a spiritual flowering. The higher the sense of the national, the more a person realizes the essence and historical role of his people, the more personality is a person, the brighter its dignity. A healthy sense of belonging to one's own nation is as natural as a child's love for parents, home, as his propensity for a native language.
Historical experience has shown that ignorance of the culture of its people, its past and present leads to the destruction of the connection between generations - the connection of times, which causes irreparable damage to the development of man and the people as a whole. However, teachers often come to school, who do not know the basics of national culture, traditions, customs. This makes their work, mutual understanding with children and their parents difficult. Therefore, we are talking about the fact that teachers should be the bearers of national consciousness, love the country, the people, the people they bring up, attach children to the origins of the native national spirit and teach the perception of the spiritual values of other peoples.
It is difficult to find in the world a country where the population of one nationality, one culture would live. In many states, and primarily federal, different peoples, ethnic groups, ethnic and religious groups live. Therefore, education in the spirit of patriotism, respect and friendship of peoples, religious tolerance reflects the meaning and goals of pedagogical actions to achieve harmony among people, development of education as a factor of intellectual and social progress of the Uzbek people. It is impossible to preserve the world in our time if we do not learn to understand each other, respect a culture that is different from ours. The goal of multicultural education is to promote the creation in Uzbek of a democratic state that is characterized by tolerance, cultural pluralism, equal rights, duties and opportunities for all citizens, participation of all in making decisions about the life of society, justice, respect for the decisions made by the school, family and public organizations. majority and protection of minority rights, freedom of choice by a person of their cultural identities.
Democracy and culture are not inherited - they are taught. The experience of living in cultural diversity is acquired over the years, and it is important to teach children that there is no good or bad, high or low, developed or undeveloped culture. They are simply different, not similar to each other, having their own merits and demerits, strengths and weaknesses.
Today, the thesis needs to be revised: internationally, what unites, has a common ground, therefore everything private, special, national is pushed to the background. The willful unifying internationalism of obligation, its postulates about the «fusion of nations», «equalization of peoples», «blurring of faces and differences» to some extent provoked interethnic outbursts, processes of national isolation, reckless sovereignization.
