Raising a Spiritually Uplifting Personality While Teaching Theological Disciplines

The present study examines the necessity of a conscious engagement with value-based and ideological foundations of education in pedagogical practice, particularly emphasizing the traditional religious values intrinsic to Russian culture. It is underscored that the educational potential of specialized theological disciplines is significant, alongside the methodologies employed for fostering the development of a spiritually and morally responsible individual in each student pursuing theological education. Particular attention is paid to the principle of sequence and systematic approach in determining the position of specialized disciplines in the curriculum structure. The study analyzes various educational curricula with respect to the inclusion of courses deemed essential for the education and moral formation of theology students. Conclusion dwells upon the fact that specialized theological disciplines possess a rich educational potential, both due to their content and their integral connection to the centuries-old history and culture of the Russian state.
