Reconstructing Peter I’s measured icon: history of a unique project

Measured icons were very popular in the royal family in the 16th-18th centuries. Currently, the tradition of painting dimensional icons for babies is being revived. The article is devoted to the unique project of the State Museum of St. Petersburg History to recreate and return to its historical place Peter I’s measured icon, which was an element at the emperor’s tomb memorial in the Peter and Paul Cathedral, but was subsequently lost.
