Possibilities of the steam laboratory in career guidance for senior preschool children

Modern conditions for the development of the Russian educational system require the implementation of holistic processes, during which the social and individual development of children is carried out. As an effective solution aimed at achieving this task, the organization of career guidance work with preschool children can be used. Career guidance is mainly of an informational nature and is aimed at making a forecast of personal development, studying his interests and abilities in one or another type of activity. The article discusses the theoretical foundations of career guidance for older preschoolers. Career guidance is understood as a set of psychological and pedagogical measures aimed at developing in a child an emotionally positive attitude towards work, the most diverse ideas about the content of professions and the emergence of professionally oriented interests and inclinations. The main goal of early career guidance is the development of interests and emotions in terms of professions with the help of adults, the acquisition of sufficient knowledge about the rich world of professions, and knowledge of one’s strengths and capabilities in available activities. One of the promising means of career guidance for older preschoolers is the steam laboratory. The steam laboratory contributes to the formation of a holistic picture of the world in preschool children through the ability to think independently and exploratively in the process of solving various problems provided for by the exact and human sciences in their inextricable relationship. Having studied the capabilities of the stim laboratory in career guidance for older preschoolers, we came to the conclusion that the stim laboratory plays an important role in the process of career guidance for older preschoolers in engineering and technical professions, namely: it helps the child develop an emotionally positive attitude towards professions and skills in using a variety of professions in gaming activities and the development of diverse ideas about the content of professions, methods of mastering a profession, features of professional activity and the emergence of professionally oriented interests and inclinations. The practical significance of the study lies in the fact that the obtained research data and the developed pedagogical project can be used in the practice of preschool educational organizations for career guidance of older preschoolers.
