Glioblastoma is known as the most common glial neoplasm, which is characterized by rapid growth rates, invasiveness, a tendency to early metastasis, a high recurrence rate, and a generally poor prognosis. Currently, various methods of radiation exposure to glioblastomas are being actively studied. At the same time, it is known that tumor response to treatment includes both the evolution of the tumor mass and its metabolic activity. Unfortunately, the possibilities of traditional MRI with the use of contrast agents do not always make it possible to accurately differentiate various changes associated with treatment from tumor progression. Recent research data show that perfusion MRI techniques can help to clarify the category of tumor response to treatment and possible post-therapeutic changes.
