Introductory words and their classification. Functions of introductory and modal words in artistic text

This article discusses lexical and grammatical units - introductory and modal words, their classification is given. The study presents a linguistic picture that reflects the degree of knowledge of the use of introductory words and constructions. On the basis of the works of leading grammatists, such as Vinogradov, Shakhmatov, Peshkovsky, Paducheva and others, the definition of introductory and modal words is formulated and their main categories are presented. The functions of the introductory words in the fiction text have also been studied.
