Mathematical modeling of the initial and evolved stages of tooth decay: geometric modeling

The initial stage of realization of computational modeling of caries tooth is the creation of the adequacy of a geometric model. This paper describes an algorithm of three-dimensional geometric modeling of human teeth, taking into account the complex geometry of enamel, pulp, dentine and cement. The geometric model is constructed on the basis of the data of 3D-scanning of the remote tooth and expert statistical data on the internal structure of human teeth. For data processing 3Dscanning are used as the standard means for work with three-dimensional graphics, and own program code that implements an algorithm for constructing three-dimensional geometrical models of complex inhomogeneous layered structures. Further processing of the model is performed in ANSYS, where is triangulation, select/job of a physical model, the task of external influences and the actual computational simulation.
