The high-tech sector of the modern economy: contents and development factors

The relevance of this research stems from the need to study the specifics of the high-tech sector of the modern economy, which determines the direction and pace of progressive dynamics. This article analyzes the criteria for classifying various types of economic activity as part of the high-tech sector, which are used in Russian and international practice. The study identifies the differences between the high-tech sector and traditional sectors of the economy and analyzes theoretical approaches to its study. Particular attention is paid to the pricing strategies of high-tech sector entities in the national and global markets, as well as the factors of their competitiveness. It is determined that knowledge of the criteria for high-tech activity is important for statistical observations, as well as for substantiating the objects of state support for innovative entrepreneurship and instruments for stimulating entrepreneurial activity. The practical significance of the findings is confirmed by the possibility of their use in the development of tools for implementing the concept of technological development.
