The cooperation of family and school in upbringing of children is studied. Its priority tasks and historical development, the modern peculiarities and effective practices are analyzed. There are considered the key stages of evolution of family-school contacts, having influence on the process of development of children's personalities. The analysis of effective practices of cooperation, directed to the solution of current educational issues, is emphasized.
