The article describes the features of students’ ideas about the professional activities and selfrealization on the stage of higher education at the university. The contents of the article highlighted the social and personal aspects of the professional development in their interrelation and interdependence. It emphasizes the influence of social and individual representations of students on the effectiveness of professional development and self-realization. Detailed outlines the procedural side of formation of representations of the students under the influence of a number of factors. The author emphasizes the influence of social factors and the relationship to the profession in the future on the professional activity and self-realization. The study of the factors influencing the attitude of a person to the profession and yourself to determine the specificity of professional fields, where the designated subject area of work, as a new psychological reality catalytic personality to transform ourselves and the world. Professional self-realization combines two elements - social and individual representations that can be considered as a condition and driving force of human perfection in the process of education on the profile of training.
