The paper provides a doctrinal analysis of foreign experience in preventing illegal migration. Coverage of the implementation of illegal migration prevention in foreign doctrine provides an opportunity to take a «new» look at existing problems, form a comprehensive understanding of a number of similar phenomena in the designated part, and also contributes to a deeper understanding of domestic migration policy as a whole. This review is based on published scientific articles in journals, including online articles, reports of foreign governments and independent organizations. In order to study foreign experience in implementing illegal migration prevention, this article discloses some doctrinal developments of scientists who, in one way or another, touched upon the designated problem. Based on the results of the work, the author makes a number of conclusions. In particular, it is proven that the development of doctrines for the prevention of illegal migration requires taking into account more complex conceptual developments related to changes in international and national law and management processes to counteract such a negative phenomenon. Great importance should be given to international cooperation in this area, since only the partnership of states can influence the prevention of illegal migration. The conducted review shows that the fight against illegal migration is a complex process and includes various legal and organizational mechanisms. Only a systemic approach will minimize illegal migration, which will ultimately increase the security of countries and reduce crime. Foreign scientific experience has shown that researchers pay great attention to the determinants of illegal migration and issues of introducing information technologies in the fight against this negative phenomenon.
