The manifesto genre is one of the most interesting genres to analyze, as it is a cross-section of certain cultural issues. Traits of the genre can be found in a number of important world texts. From the linguistic point of view, its value consists not only in the extensive use of figures of speech to attract public attention, an interesting process of analysis, but also in the possibility to analyze the implementation of pragmatics in the text and ways of its transmission. A number of manifestos determined not only the course of individual artistic movements, but also of entire countries. The genre gained and lost popularity at different times, nevertheless, it has always been used to express their point of view on problems of different nature: social, political, economic. In the course of the article we have identified five integral features of the genre and analyzed their presence in Jenny Price's book Not least, the extensive use of linguistic tropes is caused by the need to attract the reader's attention. Even serious from the first point of view works contain metaphors, epithets, neologisms, author's syntax For the same purpose performativity is introduced into the text as one of the main factors of information delivery. Since the theory of speech act allows us to accurately describe the process of information transfer by manifesto. This paper analyzes the features of the manifesto genre in the context of the work “The Russell-Einstein Manifesto”, as this text is suitable for analyzing a successful work in terms of the performance of the communicative task. The relevance of the research is conditioned by the insufficient research of the manifesto genre in the Russian-speaking and Western scientific environment, by the undeveloped conceptual apparatus of the genre in the Russian-speaking scientific environment, by the small number of analyzes of texts within the framework of manifesto discourse
