Significance of practice-focused teaching in professional training of Russian teachers

Modern approaches to the concept of “practice-focused teaching” in the pedagogy in Russia and abroad are discussed. Experiences of using practice focused teaching of social and humanitarian subjects are presented and the vector of their changes is revealed. Forms and methods of teaching, that can form skills and competences necessary for the future professional work, are defined on the basis of the assessment of “Pedagogical education” bachelor program. Students’ survey of “Pedagogical education” bachelor program are presented, and they show that students prefer practice classes where real and applied issues connected with their professional work are discussed.
