Meanings of the dative case in the early old Russian hymnography

The article deals with the meanings of the dative case considering the semantics and the part-of-speech belonging of the main and dependent component. There is stated the circle of meanings in the adverbial and adnominal usage in the cases of the prepositional and nonprepositional government. There is paid special attention to the artistic and figurative potential of the studied combination with the dative case.
