The article is devoted to the instrumental analysis of intonation co-articulation zones of variable intonation units (IU). The mechanisms of IU adaptations in the positions of contact and distant adjustments are studied. The investigation of these processes contributes to the comprehension of their role in the automatic recognition of speech and in modelling the speech production mechanism.
