The adaptive approach to the development of communicative competence of foreign students at the classes of the Russian language (level A1) is actualized and substantiated. The synergetic peculiarity of communicative competence is distinguished. There are revealed its components. The relevant functions and specific didactic principles of adaptive approach to the development of communicative competence of the considered target audience are suggested.
