The issue of professional self-determination of future translators is considered. The basic factors, having influence on its formation, are defined. There are specified the disadvantages of traditional linguistic education. The necessity to develop the system of pedagogical tools for the formation of professional self-determination of translators in the context of professional education is underlined.
