Арктическое военное присутствие и его влияние на развитие Северного морского пути

В статье прослеживается эволюция военного присутствия России и НАТО в Арктике, анализируется влияние военного позиционирования на арктическую геополитику. Автор утверждает, что хотя военный потенциал необходим в качестве сдерживающего фактора, излишняя военная риторика НАТО и России наносит ущерб миру и безопасности в Арктике. Арктическая геополитика характеризуется напряжённостью в связи с регулярными широко освещаемыми военными учениями в этом регионе. Новая холодная война в Арктике, вероятно, окажет более негативное влияние на Россию из-за западных санкций и требования развивать СМП как конкурентоспособный транспортный коридор международного уровня. Россия имеет законное право защищать свою безопасность в Арктике. Однако, по мнению автора, нет необходимости регулярно освещать подобные события, и, возможно, было бы полезнее сосредоточиться на экономике и рационализировать военные расходы. России необходимо сконцентрироваться на отношениях со странами Северной Европы и подчеркнуть свое мирное сотрудничество в Арктике. Её лидерство в Арктическом совете имеет решающее значение для снижения напряжённости в Арктике.
