“De-romanization” of novel in the theoretical reflexion and creative interpretation of V. Nabokov

Бесплатный доступ

Some theoretical and literary representations of V. Nabokov in the genre of novel are reconstructed. There are revealed the principles of the author’s fictional ontology and the criteria of novel form (including the marginal material of interview, the critical notes and the writer’s letters, completing and interpreting its fictional creative work and substantiating the wholeness of its aesthetic positions). The detailed explanations of the writer’s formula “not novel in a familiar sense” and the metaphorical definition of the specificity of novel as “a living hybrid” are given. There are observed the mechanisms of violation and overcoming of the narrative function of novel discourse.
