Online journal for children and its role in the modern media education

Studying the impact of new information technologies on children and adolescents, Russian experts mainly pay attention to the negative influences of Internet on the young audience: dangers of Internet addiction, formation of file-consciousness, serious metamorphosis of children's reading, etc. The positive impact of network periodicals for children created mainly by enthusiasts, and the value of children's journal-blogs remains outside the purview of contemporary experts. The author proposes to use network periodicals for children as a necessary component of media education for awareness-raising as well as career-oriented purposes.
