Differentiation of Platonism and Aristotelianism in the historical and philosophical concept of A. F. Losev

The article concerns with the concept of Aleksey F. Losev, representing the understanding of Platonism and Aristotelianism as key trends in European philosophizing. The author studies the historico- philosophical perspective of the development of these trends in order to identify the specific and feature of the interpretation of the Russian philosopher. Losev’ position links with the Byzantine tradition of Christian Neoplatonism, within which not the logical deduction, but the practice of real life, the experience of asceticism, acquires a special significance. As a result, the article stresses that according to Aleksey Losev Aristotle is the continuer of work of his teacher, that he has much more in common with Plato than differences.
