A. F. Losev, not without reason, is considered to be the last philosopher of the Silver Age, but this characteristic does not exhaust the full depth of the problems associated with his legacy. One of them is that, unlike the philosophers of the older generation, Losev did not leave Russia after the revolution, but witnessed the collapse of Christian civilization. Obviously, this leads him to re-evaluate (overestimate) some ideas characteristic of the Silver Age. In particular, this concerns the views on Platonism, and on Plato’s theory of the state, expressed by V. Solovyov and V. Ivanov. The article analyzes the conceptual results of the way passed by Losev’s thought.
