Formation of functional literacy of personality in the educational system “Native word” by K.D. Ushinskiy

The article deals with the potential of the development of the functionally competent personalities of the younger schoolchildren based on the teaching guide “Native word” by K.D. Ushinskiy. The analysis of the built-in approach to teaching the students of the primary school in this textbook demonstrated that it was considerably ahead of time and established the basis of the modern primary education, because Konstantin Dmitrievich Ushinskiy considered that it was necessary to teach to learn for the formation of the efficient and resulting process of the child’s education.
