It is stated that the development of historical memory of schoolchildren is important to begin with the implementation of emotionally coloured images of the past, the symbolic figures and the events of the native past in their consciousness. “The recollections” in the memory of the schoolchildren of the fourth form of the 1960-1970s supported their self-identity as the Soviet people, the heritors of generations, who had been fighting with the foreign occupiers and depressors for centuries.
