Developing of mediative competence at foreign language lessons among students in the secondary school

Global sociocultural processes taking place in the modern world determine new approaches to the development of teaching materials for teaching foreign languages, designed to bring learning to a completely new level. The universalization of the European educational system is accompanied by the introduction of new methodological terms and concepts; the content of well-known concepts in the new educational paradigm is changing. One of such concepts is the concepts of “mediation”, “mediation competence”. The subject of research in this paper are the questions of mediation viewed as language interaction as a type of speech activities. In the paper different approaches to mediative competence, its structure and content are described, the need and opportunity of developing mediative competence in the 8th and 9th form of the secondary school based on the teaching of text retelling are proved.
