This paper presents a careful study and analysis of an existing manual sales and inventory control system of a pharmaceutical store and aimed at designing and developing a computer-based system in order to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the business operations of the pharmaceutical store. The study was carried out to reduce the problems of inconsistency and inaccuracy of sales and drug data inherent in the existing manual system of the pharmacy. An analysis of the current manual system was done to get a better understanding of the system. The Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology was used in this work to implement an iterative program which is suitable for stand-alone applications that can be updated from time to time as may be required by the computer -based system. Testing was done in every phase of the development life cycle to ensure that the new system works properly. The software was developed and implemented using Visual Basic 6.0 programming language and Microsoft Access for the database platform. The software developed provides alert of every expired drug and minimum quantity of each drug available in stock. Other activities such as product sales, drugs and users registration, and periodic reports generation can also be carried out with the new system.

Conducing the Cashless Revolution in Pakistan Using Enterprise Integration

The cashless revolution is changing the landscape of the banking industry in Pakistan. In addition to internet and phone banking, a major role is played by Fintech applications such as UPaisa, Easypaisa, and JazzCash. This paper aims to study the public perception of a cashless Pakistan and the potential of Pakistan to develop into a cashless economy. We conduct an exploratory survey to find out the needs, expectations, perceptions, and fears of the consumers associated with cashless technology, and then discuss various ways in which Pakistan can go completely cashless such as e-wallets, debit cards, and other digital payment systems. The results of the survey show a positive response of the public towards a cashless Pakistan. Several factors are identified that the public faces. These make the public reluctant to move to cashless technology. This paper will point these out, and suggest solutions to these problems; paving the path towards a cashless Pakistan.

Conformity Degree Analysis on Software Engineering Program and Professional Norms

This paper analyzes the software engineering undergraduate programs of 31 software schools in the 36 national model schools of software engineering and does conformity degree analysis on the professional norms released by the teaching guidance committee of computer science and technology of higher school under the Ministry of Education. The result shows that the conformity degree of the software engineering programs of the national model school of software engineering is higher in knowledge structure, but the difference is relatively great in courses.

Construction of Cisco Virtual Lab Platform

In experiment of network engineering and network construction, students are required to configure Cisco network equipment. Due to limit of lab environment, amount of equipment is not enough and some experiments require much more expensive and higher level equipment that are not practical to purchase and maintain. It is meaningful to use network equipment simulator on PCs. The proposed platform utilizes Dynamips simulator to simulate routers and switches of Cisco product series. Dynamips supports directly loading Cisco IOS images and provides configuration interface as true equipment’s. It has very good teaching effect in experiment of network engineering. And success of the proposed platform shows it can be used in other network related courses.

With the popularization of multimedia technology in the application on teaching, the actual application on teaching software has become a major problem that computer-assisted instruction (CAI) in-depth developed. Constructing a scientific, objective, and fair evaluation system of multimedia teaching software has become imperative. By combining current characteristics of CAI and various evaluating indicator at home and abroad , a more reasonable evaluation system is proposed in this paper. Experimental data show that the evaluation system is feasible and effective, and has a wide range of applications.

Corpus-based Study on Cultural Values in EFL Coursebooks from the Perspective of Social Roles

The present study makes a comparison of social roles reflected in two series of EFL coursebooks published before and after a new round of curriculum reform started from 2001 in China by means of corpus. The purpose is to explore the cultural values embedded in EFL coursebooks, particularly shown in three aspects of social roles, namely gender, race and age. The results show that after the curriculum reform there are some obvious changes of EFL coursebooks in presenting social roles, but there is still room for further improvement.
