3D Steady Model and Simulation for a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell Performance

A three-dimensional, steady-state non-isotherm mathematical model for proton exchange membrane fuel cell is developed. The model takes into accounts simultaneously the mass, momentum, energy, species, charge conservation equation and combines electrochemistry reaction inside the cell. The simulation results show that it is easy to improve the fuel cell performance for higher porosity in the diffusion layer, because of the benefit of speeding the gas diffusion, reducing the concentration grads of gas, depressing the ridge board domino offect and falling current density grads.

A Bibliometric Analysis on Chatbot Application in Education

A bibliometric analysis study investigating chatbots' current state and developments in education research has not been adequately addressed in literature. Thus, this study highlights the current state, emerging research trends and directions of chatbots in education using bibliometric analysis. The significance of the study is to provide insights into the most recent developments of chatbots application in education and future research directions for academics and practitioners. A bibliometric analysis of publications on chatbots in education published between 2012 and 2022 was conducted. A total of 759 publications were collected from the Scopus database for the bibliometric analysis. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) was adopted to identify and screen the dataset. VOSviewer (version 1.6.18) was used to perform the following network analysis: co-authorship and co-occurrence. Also, Bibliometrix was used for the descriptive statistics of the bibliometric data and the publication trend. The study’s findings showed that fewer studies have been conducted from the African region on chatbot education research. Researchers from the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, China, India, Greece, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, and United Arab Emirates have collaborated significantly in chatbot education research. Also, the main keyword occurrences in research on chatbots in education are chatbots, students, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, education, and learning. The trends indicate a steady increase in research on chatbots over the past decade.

A Case Study on Adult and Workplace Learning

This case study aimed to determine the effects of adult learning on employee development and performance. Specifically, the authors sought to discern whether the provision of an annual education allotment impacted employees’ learning; whether the availability of a no-cost online education and training tool promoted voluntary learning and professional development; and, whether informal but mandatory workplace trainings promoted active performance-based learning and self-development. Data from a United States (US) Government office were collected and analyzed using mixed methods including quantitative and qualitative analyses. Although three different learning modalities were available, the realism was that in all learning activities, intrinsic motivation was an unavoidable paradigm that evokes and sustains effective learning, and as a result, positive job performance. In other words, a reciprocal relationship between motivation and achievement must be present to achieve and ensure continued success.

A Comparative Study between Cloud Energy Consumption Measuring Simulators

Cloud computing is the study of using remote servers which are hosted on the internet to deliver on-demand computing resources on pay-for-use basis rather than a local server. Due to high energy consumption in cloud computing environments, it has become the main area of research. The amount of energy consumption becomes difficult to determine in real cloud computing infrastructure. In recent years some simulation tools have been developed to analyze the energy consumption in cloud computing environments for the researchers. This paper evaluates three different popular cloud energy consumption measuring simulators: CloudSim, CloudAnalyst and GreenCloud. All of these simulators can determine energy consumption according to their ability and capacity. The comparative study indicates that in a cloud computing environment, GreenCloud simulator is better than CloudSim and CloudAnalyst due to reliable measurement of energy consumption. The significance of this comparative study is to help out the researchers who are working on energy consumption in cloud computing environments that how GreenCloud simulator make their work efficient rather than other simulators.

Image mining is one of important techniques in data mining, which involved in multiple disciplines. Image Classification Refers the tagging the images into a number of predefined sets. It's also includes image preprocessing, feature extraction, object detection, object classification, object segmentation, object classification and many more techniques. Image classification to produce the accurate prediction results in their target class for each case in the data. It is a very predominant and challenging task in various application domains, including video surveillance, biometry, biomedical imaging, industrial visual inspection, vehicle navigation, remote sensing and robot navigation. The aim of this study compares the some predominant data mining algorithms in image classification. For this review SVM, AdaBoost, CART, KNN, Artificial Neural Network, K-Means, Chaos Genetic Algorithm, EM Algorithm, C4.5 algorithms are taken.

To accomplish this task we have used a framework.The results of the study of 21 existing tools reveals that although GSD tools show dominating strengths in achieving some Project Management (PM )goals, yet much work needs to be done. Comprehensively, there is an ultimate need of a single GSD that could facilitate every aspect of PM.

In most developing countries, the majority of the population heavily rely on agriculture for their livelihood. The yield of agriculture is heavily dependent on uncertain weather conditions like monsoon, soil fertility, availability of irrigation facilities and fertilizers as well as support from Govt. The main challenge in this study if the agricultural yield which is quite less compared to the effort put in due to inefficient agricultural implements and lack of knowledge on the other hand. It is therefore essential for the farmers to improve their harvest yield by acquisition of related data such as soil condition, temperature, humidity, availability of irrigation facilities, availability of manure etc and adopt smart farming techniques using modern agricultural equipment. A trend has started amongst the farmers to shift from traditional conventional farming to smart farming using the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, which can help improve yield with reduced effort at economic cost. The main focus of this paper is to present work related to these technologies in the agriculture field. This also presented their challenges & benefits related to smart farming. For improving the system, IoT will interact with other useful systems like Wireless Sensor Networks. It can help for understanding the job of data by using IoT and correspondence advancements in horticulture division. A Concept Review on MOOCs Research Findings – A Qualitative Approach

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) platforms play a vital role nowadays in knowledge creation and enhancement. Though, initially these programs and courses were offered freely, now due to emergence of technology and requirement, they were offered in both free and paid mode. Currently, the MOOCs provide various programs and courses that are administered by various international higher education institutions and private organizations. Moreover, the COVID – 19 has triggered all the universities, colleges and institutions to move towards MOOC platforms as an online learning method. The students used these MOOC platforms to gain and enhance required knowledge in this competitive world. Due to this emergence, various research studies were conducted during the past years using different research methodologies and scopes to identify the usage, gaps, trends, advantages, disadvantages and user satisfactions. This paper reviews some major researches since 2010 and summarizes the findings to support future research scopes. The 16 research articles that were having more than 100 Google citation counts were considered for this study and analyzed. Currently, the number of students joining and completing the courses through online is significantly increased which showed that the learners’ intention on getting the knowledge in the area of specialization has increased. Moreover, the acceptance and recognition of online courses and programs by various employers and institutions have been increase which opens a great opportunities for continuous and life-long learnings. Though, the completion rates of courses and programs thorough online platforms are increased comparatively now-a-days, the success rates, knowledge acquisition rates, actual participation rates and learning outcome attainment rates need to be studied in depth.

A vital portion of software engineering education is practical learning and experience of principles, methods and procedures for the development of real-time software. Yet, software engineering educators have been using the traditional approaches for SE education since long back, which is being revealed as an inefficient method of learning approach and bring up the gap between graduates and software industries. Therefore, instructors are required to train their students based on professional skills, real-time experience and well prepare them for real time environment upon graduation. This paper presents an educational framework for the implementation of PBL (Project Based Learning) approach with industry collaboration in order to reduce the gap between both parties. This is an effective and efficient approach for teaching and learning SE education as compared to the traditional and lecture-based approach, in which students are trained with real-time projects and market-oriented aspects, which is not seen in the traditional approach. Moreover, it helps students to gain complete knowledge of software engineering concepts, Hard and Soft skills, Software design process and principles with more confidence over real-time projects.

A Controlled Sinusoidal Signal Generator Based On Direct Digital Synthesize

In this paper, a controlled sinusoidal signal generator (CSSG) based on the direct digital synthesize (DDS) chip-AD9851 is introduced. The CSSG is controlled by MSP430F4250, which is an ultralow-power microcontroller. The micro control unit (MCU) receives 4-20mA current provided by a current transmitter and then computes the frequency value of the input signal. A frequency value is converted to frequency words which are sent to AD9851. Through an amplifier, a sinusoidal signal can be obtained. With changing the value of input current, sinusoidal signal with different frequency value can be generated. Experiments indicate that the system can produce the sinusoidal signal with frequency 1MHz to 2MHz and accuracy 1Hz.

A Critical Review by Teachers on the Online Teaching-Learning during the COVID-19

The world has witnessed a sudden change in the teaching-learning processes due to the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19. The worldwide compulsive lockdown for ensuring the preventive measures to stop the spread of this infection has equally affected education sector as other business sectors. As all of us know that quality education is the only long-term rescue for all the challenges and therefore, the need to find out the alternative solution to the traditional classroom teaching-learning is the concern of all stakeholders and the only option found is online mode of teaching-learning, which was somehow already available and had attracted an intense attention during this period. The aim of the paper is to study the teacher’s perspective in India about this mode of learning, challenges and issues faced by them in migration to online platform, experience about online tools/platforms used for instructional delivery and their suggestions to improve the process for effective teaching. This study will help in gaining insight towards the possible improvements in the ongoing mode of online teaching and in future situations also. The results obtained based on sample collection through web based questionnaire clearly gives some information, which could be an eye opener for enhancing the implementation of the online teaching-learning among the learners especially teachers, who can further help in implementation of the large. Although, the online mode was already in place and was utilized in blended form to a substantial level in the developed countries, but in developing countries like India, where teachers are not familiar with online platforms/tools, lack of knowledge and skills to handle the online ICT infrastructure in a challenging situation. The results also give an impression about the need of professional development with special focus on digital literacy skills and awareness among the teacher community about the merits of online platforms for the teaching-learning process.

A Cross-Layer Dynamic Probabilistic Broadcasting Strategy for Mobile Ad hoc Networks

In order to solve the broadcast storm problem caused by blind flooding, a cross-layer dynamic probabilistic broadcasting strategy for mobile ad hoc networks (CLDPB) is proposed. CLDPB adopts the cross-layer design, which let routing layer share the received signal power information at MAC layer while still maintaining separation between the two layers. The additional transmission range that can benefit from rebroadcast is calculated according to the received signal power, which is applied to dynamically adjust the rebroadcast probability. CLDPB reduces the redundant retransmission and the chance of the contention and collision in the networks. Simulation results reveal that the CLDPB achieves better performance in terms of the saved-rebroadcast, the average packet drop fraction, the average number of collisions and average end-to-end delay, which is respectively compared with the blind flooding and fixed probabilistic flooding applied at the routing layer while IEEE 802.11 at the MAC layer.

The concentration or composition of industrial waste gas is an important parameter in process industry. According to the required of an industrial waste gas monitor and control project a system of data analysis and display is designed based on LabVIEW. The system has 6 modules including error analysis, equal precision data processing, Non-precision data processing, uncertainty evaluation, least squares and regression analysis. Running results indicated that this system is steady and rapidly. It can be used to deal the concentration or composition data accurately in real-time and can be display the result by graph or character. Remarkably the system is designed by LabVIEW, it is easy to modify, upgrade and to use as a subVI in other LabVIEW control system.

A Decision Tree Approach for Predicting Students Academic Performance

This research is on the use of a decision tree approach for predicting students' academic performance. Education is the platform on which a society improves the quality of its citizens. To improve on the quality of education, there is a need to be able to predict academic performance of the students. The IBM Statistical Package for Social Studies (SPSS) is used to apply the Chi-Square Automatic Interaction Detection (CHAID) in producing the decision tree structure. Factors such as the financial status of the students, motivation to learn, gender were discovered to affect the performance of the students. 66.8% of the students were predicted to have passed while 33.2% were predicted to fail. It is observed that much larger percentage of the students were likely to pass and there is also a higher likely of male students passing than female students.

A Dynamic Scheme Based on Clustering for Wireless Sensor Networks MAC Protocol

Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs), as one of the most important techniques in the 21st century, receives auniversal attention to the research on its key techniques.A solution is urgently expected to meet thehigher-quality service requirements of various applications on the limited bandwidth of wireless networks.Based on the ideas of Priority-based polling transmission with high-efficiency, and dynamic self-adaptation to loading, this paper presents a new analysis model of MAC Scheme of wireless sensor networks, which has made possible the Cluster Header capable of differentiating the nodes of different priority levels under mixed services policy and which has improved the flexibility and adaptability of the system via adjustment of the switch-in service in three time of load change input. The theoretical model of this protocol is established with Markov chain and probability generating function. Mathematical analysis is made on the mean queue length and the mean inquiry cyclic time of the common queue and the key node. It turns out that the findings from theoretical analysis correspond well with those from simulated experiments.

Fire is a threat to lives and properties when no proactive measure is engaged towards curbing the occurrence. Fire occurs whenever there is a complete reaction of combustible fuel, heat and oxygen. The students require technological skills for digitally-based society. This paper presented an automated flaming ions–fire detection and notification system that detected a combustible flaming ion before fire occurs, alerted the relevant authority using Short Message Service (SMS) through Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) modem for urgent attention and imparted students with relevant skills in designing and implementation of automated systems. The developed system was continuously scanning for detection of combustible flaming ions by the sensors in its vicinity. The relevant authority not available within the surroundings as well as people within the neighbourhood was alerted for fast response before the fire incidence. The developed system had a response mean-time of 3.55s in detecting flaming ions before the occurrence of fire. The flaming ions were detected at the mean-time of 3.55seconds prior to the fire occurrence from the tested materials. It was remarked by the users that a prompt detection of flaming ions could prompt response from fire fighters and prevent any damages from fire incidence and principally, the students in the field of Computer Science were imparted with computational skills in designing and implementing a detection and notification system.
