Impact of modern technologies on learning English as a foreign language

Modern technologies have transformed English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning by enhancing accessibility, interactivity, and personalization. Digital tools such as mobile apps, online platforms, and artificial intelligence provide learners with authentic materials, immediate feedback, and flexible learning environments. These innovations improve language skills, motivation, and global communication competence in diverse educational contexts. Using contemporary technologies to teach English as a second language is the focus of this paper. It gives some information about apps that can help English language learners enhance their technology-assisted skill learning. These apps include Duolingo, Mondly, Tandem, FluentU, Coursera, Hello talk that teach English online, Presentation software, electronic dictionaries, chat, and computer-assisted language learning programs learning video clips and listening to CD players. A case study was conducted to evaluate how average English language learners responded to employing technology in education and ends with some recommendations and suggestions.
