Use of Swiss political and linguistic texts in translation classes: from experience

The article is devoted to the methods of using political and linguistic texts in the classroom with bachelors, studying foreign regional program. The relevance of the topic is determined by the task of developing the competencies provided by the Federal state standart in the direction of foreign regional studies, for further professional activities, including translation. The article presents the main sources of authentic Swiss texts and their brief characteristics. The author discusses the main lexical and grammatical phenomena that cause certain difficulties for students by translation, shows them on a specific example and presents an algorithm for working on the text both in the classroom and in extracurricular classes. The main emphasis in the development of translation skills and skills for future professional activities is on the recognition of lexical units with national and cultural specifics; matching, context analysis and working with dictionaries, as well as editing skills. The article also suggests an algorithm for working with political texts, including memorizing an active political dictionary and fixing it in translation from Russian to German. The prerequisite for expanding the vocabulary is the preparation of oral reports on the topic of political, cultural, sports life, as well as news from the education field. Taking into account the familiarization of students with Swiss literary texts, the translation of nationally specific texts helps to fill certain cultural gaps, with other exercises in the German language, contributes to the further development, deepening ofprofessional and language competence of students.
