Целью данного исследования является изучение потенциала перепрофилирования заброшенных угольных шахт в качестве катализаторов устойчивого экономического развития в постугольных регионах. Цель состоит в том, чтобы оценить осуществимость, экономическую целесообразность и потенциальные выгоды перепрофилирования этих участков для различных инновационных и устойчивых целей, выходящих за рамки традиционной деятельности по добыче полезных ископаемых.

Economic feasibility of repurposing abandoned coal mines in the interests of sustainable development
The purpose of the study. The purpose of this study is to study the potential of repurposing abandoned coal mines as catalysts for sustainable economic development in post-coal regions. The aim is to assess the feasibility, economic feasibility and potential benefits of repurposing these sites for various innovative and sustainable purposes beyond traditional mining activities. Research methods. The study uses a mixed-method approach combining qualitative and quantitative analyses. Data is collected through comprehensive literature reviews, case studies of successful mine conversion projects, and economic modeling. Research results. The results obtained indicate that the conversion of abandoned coal mines has significant economic potential for post-coal regions. Conclusions of the study. The study concludes that the conversion of abandoned coal mines is a viable and sustainable approach to stimulating economic development in regions experiencing the decline of the coal industry.
