The issue of control and assessment of learning outcomes of written translation to linguistics students is considered. The review of approaches to identify the intended learning outcomes of translation disciplines on the basis of the complex models of translation competence is described. The methodology of organization of continuous assessment of students’ achievements is developed, the criteria of assessment of test written translations are suggested.
