Представленная статья посвящена отношениям британского монарха Якова II, в ходе «Славной революции» в Англии свергнутого с престола, и разными группами ирландской элиты. Автор впервые ставит вопрос о переговорах короля-изгоя и его ирландских подданных накануне заседаний Патриотического парламента. Определены основные решения этого сословного представительства и те политические силы, которые выражали в нем свои интересы.
