The article stresses the importance of understanding polysemantic physical terms by pupils while working with textbooks, shows ways of dealing with the problem, offers definitions of interrelated types of notions. The theoretical ideas have been approbated by the authors in real classroom situations and at conferences and have demonstrated their importance for intellectual development of the pupils and for formation of physical concepts.
